Fred D Smith, you could say music is in his blood. Four generations of musicians, who share first and last names. Fred was influenced at a young age by his dad, a multi-talented musician that played guitar, bass, mandolin and tenor banjo. Fred started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of fifteen while busking in Bastion Square in Victoria BC. and on Granville street in Vancouver BC. Upon his return to Hamilton Ont, Fred began to mature as a songwriter and soon was performing in coffeehouses, churches, pubs and festivals in the southern Ontario area with the band Lazarus. As of late Fred has performed at "Hamilton Music Scene" events and at HMS award winning Beatle tribute shows and at various other venues as either a solo artist or with his group "The Heartbroken Souls". Fred has recently started recording his debut cd, "Sky Blue Eyes" with producer Christopher Clause of Cloverhill Studios and has his first track,"Factory Blues" completed and has two other tracks "Canborough Road" and "Write Myself a New Song" in the final mix stage. Fred has also recorded two gospel tunes "His Mercy" and "You Give Me Hope" that were produced by Dan Aiken of "Junkhouse" fame at his "Catherine North Studio. Raised in the small town of Winona, Ont., Fred's songwriting style is a draw back to the all night jam sessions his dad would have in the living room. When you mix oldtime country & western, rockabilly, 60's rock, blues, gospel and folk, you get what Fred likes to call "FOLKADELIC".
Hey Fred! Just thinking about you! I came online and showed all my friends your stuff!! I am so proud of you and I love you!! Merry Christmas Freddy! X0X0X0X
I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.

CountryHome Forum have more than 5,000 members. Each news you submit to CountryHome Forum will released to my weekly Newsletter with more than 50,000 readers.
Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. If you do not have the time to submit your artist news and events by yourself, please send it me to: Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de and I will submit them by myself to CountryHome Forum.
I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks
Christian

Hey Fred, well I took your advice I am trying to get back into the music scene. Writing and stuff, taking a guitar class at my University now, not so I can play, but just so I can write songs. Ya, Ive been inspired lately. So, again, thanks for saying to 'just do it'. Ciao.
Fred D Smith - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K. Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.
"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer. "
