About me:
We are a diverse collective aiming to set up a long term autonomous social centre in Birmingham, UK (as well as possible shorter term projects), consisting of activists from the disability rights, anti-war, ecologist, anti-capitalist and other social movements.
An autonomous social centre is a social space run and controlled by its users, which exists not to make profit but to bring people together and create non-hierarchical, inclusive and liberated social possibilities. It can be a venue for anything from music, film and theatre to cookery workshops and language lessons, to crisis advocacy and office space for campaigning organisations, to organising for direct action.
We are committed to accessibility and inclusivity, anti-racism/sexism/disablism/homophobia/transphobia/etc, ecological sustainability, the Social Model of Disability and non-hierarchical organising principles.

Who I'd like to meet:
Bands/DJs/theatre groups/etc looking for performance venues; activists looking for a campaigning base; other individuals or groups with similar aims; anyone in Brum or surrounding areas who is interested in an alternative to exclusionary, commercial venues and/or patronising local authority "social care" provision...
