FTWLOY (pronounced efF-Tee-W-LOY -- spell the first three, say the last three)
What IS FTWLOY??
Always at first glance, everyone will ask the same question. One which riddles the mind for more than a minute or more. A mere glimpse at the logo, or even the name, sparks the beginning of this wonder they behold. And with that spark, the hunt for the answer begins...
It all started in the summer of 2005. At the time, Jason Molstad was part of a band devised from a previous cover band he and the drummer were in. Through most of the summer, bickering and arguing became commonplace. In one moment, it came down to Jason, being sat down by the band, and told how much he had changed. How he didn't write or have the same opinions the others did. How they wished he'd "...played the way you did years ago."
An idea struck and flourished... Limitation was not what he wanted, nor ideas tossed aside without a single thread of thought. Freedom was his cry and the motto came forth:
"Fuck The Whole Lot Of You, I'll do it my way!!!"
Time passed along as the idea swirled in his head. Who could he find to make this happen? Who could take the craziness begging to be unleashed onto the unsuspected ears of others?? COULD it even WORK?!?
The answer came months later with a message through MySpace by the name of Jeff Brushert. At the end of January in 2006, they finally met up to figure out whether or not they would work together. The answer came at 7am after hanging out with eachother for more than 9 hours. They knew they had something. Even before hearing the other one play. It was a force to be reckoned with and they KNEW it.
The summer of 2006 saw the two trying to find a bassist to fit the mold. Many different bassists were considered to take on the task, but in May they finally found Arlie Maynard. The Lot Patrol was established and ready to take the message of no-nonsense attitude and aggression. With only half a year under their belts of practice, they performed their first show in November. The amazement and the response was imminent. The world had it's first glimpse... And they liked it!!
2007 saw stickers, shirts, shows and tracking of the "Drill To Death" EP. It also saw the departure of Arlie from the band. In two months, they found their replacement in Flanagan Blust. With this new member, the message and attitude came as strong as a 50 ft. tsunami!
With energy uncomparable by any other three piece, the moment these three hit the stage, be prepared to get everything, anything and nothing all at once! Harsh, brash, abrasive, aggressive, offensive, high energy in every aspect you can think of.
So then, what is the true point to FTWLOY? Plain and simple: It does not matter if you enjoy the music and it does not matter if you like any of the members. If you can take the statement made with this band with you and use it, that's all we ask. The bottom line is this: We're doing this for ourselves, for our enjoyment and we don't care what it comes out to be. We believe in being up-front with everyone about this band with no compromise for anyone.
...and if you can't handle that, FUCK THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU!!!
Just to give you a heads-up.... some definitions:
Lot Dwellers: these are fans. If you like what we're doing and it makes sense to you.... You're a Lot Dweller. Use and abuse!!!
Lot Patrol: These are honorary band members, security, roadies and helpers (of any kind). WE have the right to say whether or not you are in the Lot Patrol. Never abuse the rights of the Patrol!!!
