Sounds Like
"FULL seem like nothing else on Earth - a furious, terrifyingly rambunctious collision of jazz dissonance, pop philanthropy, punk energy, hyperrhythmic derangment and avant-garde exploration."
www.SplendidEzine.com
"They call it avant chamber rock, and while throughout Dimstar FULL often comes off faux jazzy, slick, and too deliberate, beneath the surface this record is really a masterful cross of early solo Björk somnambulance, India Arie soul, and utopian Tortoise-ized post-Disneyland sounds."
www.AllMusic.com
"It would be quite easy to compare them to the likes of an experimental Radiohead but luckily FULL are more interesting than that."
www.Phase9.tv (UK)
"...Beth Gibbons, Bjork and Prefuse 73 are appropriate comparisons, but the music's sheer organic intensity is warmer than those artists imply."
SponicZine
"...they embrace a wide range of instrumental sentiments (ranging from cellos, vibraphones and trumpets to your more standard set) and risk venturing off into the parallels of drum n' bass, jazz and rock. There is no 'typical FULL sound'."
www.SoundTheSirens.com
"The music is dreamy, jazzy, loungy, almost trip-hop, and all around cool."
www.CollectedSounds.com
"Evocative, sexy, energetic, mellow, anything but what you most expect, [Dimstar] is a beautiful mix of soul. Exotic, haunting, dreamy, psychotic, these songs are a trip through layers of metaphor and complexity while all the more pleasing to the ear and shifting emotion."
www.CoolGrrrls.com
FULL is a six-piece live avant.pop.chamber.rocktronica sextet living in Seattle, originally from Detroit featuring Ms. Wings (vocals), Switch (bass and tweaks), BrassWax (trumpet), Tacket (vibraphone and percussion), Sandon (acoustic/electronic drums), and Pudd'n (bowtar and guitar).
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT FULL:
"FULL has managed to make complex, shifting, and what should be difficult music sound like pure pop. It's a recipe that's destined for the big time." www.AllMusic.com
"...the most innovative sound I've heard come out of Michigan." www.MichiganBands.com
"Dimstar is something of a triumph." www.SplendidEzine.com
"This impressively eclectic Motor City export funnels Portishead's angelic mope through a factory of hyperactive drum samples, vibraphone sprinkles, and brass blasts" Seattle Weekly
"Imagine Portishead crossed with Tortoise at their jazziest, and shiver in anticipation." The Stranger (Seattle)
"[Dimstar is] the surprise favorite of the year, the one that swooped in unexpectedly and ROCKED US! BEST of 2003" Both Sides of the Surface
"...a head-spinningly creative local (Detroit) band who, by all rights, should be the recipients of all the attention and praise that is currently being lavished upon the White Stripes..." www.NoRipcord.co.uk (UK)
"...perfectly moody and moodily perfect." www.SponicZine.com
"...vocalist Ms. Wings has an absolutely stellar voice - her vocals and harmonies would be absolutely show stopping" www.Adequacy.net

Seasons greetings good friend and we wish you an exciting new year!
This time next year you may be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbour.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.
If you ever liked Ricky Lee Jones or traditional Thai music have a listen to my new tune "Monsoon." I know you're gonna love it. I also put up another new track called Vietnam.Wrote letter to prez of Clear Path. They send medical supplies, give money for edu and grants for starting biz to landmine victims in SE Asia. I said that our member at KentHavershamp was interviewed in Rolling Stones about involvement in Second Life and that Clear Path might tooif they became involved in SL.
Had seen videos on net of landmine victims in SE Asia that played traditional SEAsian music and thought if they gave "live" performance in SL that would be very newsworthy. Would be good PR for Clear Path, raise awareness and attracting more donors. The prez loves the idea. Is in SE Asia now recording traditional landmine victim ensembles. Was wondering if we could make something happen this month while he's there.
They need virtual instruments so I approached 10 vendors and they said too much work on short notice so I got the idea that maybe they could just use virtual "cardboard cutouts" of a photo that were life size to place on stage until a better solution found. That's finished. I also spoke to Augren Ferguson of Zen Tao music who maintains an office in SL. Said that Robbie Dingo insturment maker and music store owner has a cover article in SL Business Magazine for month of August and maybe I could write an article.
Bali Hai has offered their stage as the venue.
Jay Radio at KentHavershamp knows of writer for wired.com which is a technology magazine who has an avatar in SL. Recently interviewed one of our artists for the magazine.
WickedKarmaLiveRadio stream manager CirceBoom will let us use their server for free and contacted virtual event promotion websites electrichseepcompany.com and aimeeweber.com
