WHAT'S FUNKABIT

Cocuz e zoffy, a young duo, also known as the Funkabit are from northern Italy. As most of the kids of their generation, Funkabit grew up with new references when talking about electronic music, while most of us will tell you Detroit, Chicago, acid house, as their pri- mary reference, they will tell you Daft Punk, The Beastie Boys, Air, etc... These bands were the first big stars of the electronic scene, capable of opening this music to other genres, to people that were feeling left out by the pure and extremist techno/house sound.

No wonder that Funkabit's generation continues to explore, like their fathers, the encounter of various styles, stealing from hip-hop (this release is a clear example of it), borrowing a certain punk attitude and all of it sealed in a clear electronic mindset. The duo met during their childhood, developing in that period their ears and their musical skills.

Both played with synths and percussion instruments. In 2006, Simone and Emanuele finally decided to put together their ideas, The Funkabit were born.

Soon after followed their first release on the free net label Peteran records. They reached an incredible number of downloads in a few months and managed to create a great buzz around their music.

The Funkabit have been touring northern Italy for more than a year, putting on a great live set full of funkiness that resulted in a fan base growing after every date. From the end of 2007 Cocuz starts to work alone.
