Garrett Nordstrom Situation is the vehicle for singer-songwriter Garrett Nordstrom. The first full length record by the band is called Blue Flag, Black Heart. Nordstrom has enlisted the talents of vocalists Jen Johnson and Meshell Nelson to share the signing duties theat make up a powerful vocal attack. The current lineup is made up of longtime Nordstrom drummer/collaborator Scot Eldridge, bassist Jacquie Fernandez-Lenati, multi-instrumentalist Rich “Willy” Wood, vocalists Jen Johnson and Meshell Nelson. The group’s “Alt-R&B” combines supple funk with rich harmonies, uptempo rockers with folksy instrumentals to create a record which is currently receiving critical review.
