Hi Gary, I had so much fun the other night at the EYLSIAN JAM! Sunday's never seemed so good!!! I love the venue and the players....the motown was awesome as was the southern rock. Sere ya next w/e!!! Love, Christy
Hi Gary, I've been your myspace friend for a few months and had no idea that you were the drummer on the Fire on the Mountain album. I was really preoccupied at the time I was adding friends from Nashville. I didn't always look at their sites very closely. Figured I'd get 'em in my friends and catch up later. When that album came out I owned it. I was thirteen. Still have it at my brother's house. It still rates with me as a masterpiece. Wow! You were there. I'm amazed. Wanted to share that. Good luck on the gigs. I'm looking too. Peace and love, http://www.scottmiddleton.org

I made it down to listen to the boys saturday night. I had a great time..(tried to drink all the liquor and beer, but just could'nt...but I tried!) The guys sounded great. Barry & Nick are still on top of things, great musicians! There was only one thing missing....no Snatcher!..Catch you next time my friend, cause I definitely want to do it again..Short Round...
Hey, Bud! Thanks for posting my song. We sure change, as the years go by, don't we? What I lost in hair and teeth, I gained in pounds around my middle, though, so it all comes out even, right?
i've decided to change my name to omar and move to delaware and become a carpet salesman and adopt an elderly, bifocaled albino squirrel named buford who wears a chef's hat and walks with a limp. that will be a good life. i will send postcards.
Introducing a new concept for musicians nationwide. It's called getting off the couch and networking. The work doesn't come to you, only the landlord, boomerangs and junk mail do that. It's inexpensive and I offer hands on service with a combo package that also features you in my music biz newsletter THE MUSIC CITY BEAT! My service is affordable and it's working already. I'm not beating out the competition. there isn't any. I'm the only game in town for professionals.
Gary Allen, host of The Play It Again Jam, and drummer/songwriter for international acts
The Charlie Daniels Band, JJ Cale and Grand Opry Star Stonewall Jackson, has debuted Nashville's
first professional musicians referral service, run by a player that has been there and back many times.
Sign up for an introductory price of $50 that takes you until 2011. If you join up before New Years Eve 2010 you can sign up for life for $100. No other charges ever as long as I have breath and bandwidth.
Most of the jam squad have already started networking and browsing the new service; hooking up with working
bands and artists. We have players signed up from bands such as Lita Ford, Rick Derringer, The Four Tops, Peter Frampton,
Blackfoot, Molly Hatchett, The Charlie Daniels Band, Peter Noone, Percy Sledge, The Platters, JJ Cale, Jerry Reed,
Travis Tritt, Dolly Parton, Spanky and Our Gang, Toby Keith, Danny Elfman, Katie Segal (Peggy Bundy), Boz Scaggs and Leon Russell.
The Play It Again Jam is 3 years young and happens every Sunday at The Elysian Inn in South Nashville at 4 o'clock.
Be there or be Square Pants Sponge Bob! You can sign up at the jam or email me
and I will make it fast and east to join up. If you have a stamp and a mailbox we can get you to work with your own
personalized and customized listing with links to your website, Reverbnation, My Space, phone and/or email.
You can sign up above for invitations and my musicians newsletter The Music City Beat or email me at

I would like to meet someone that understands and enjoys working in My Space. Well you asked.
Charlie Daniels was recently inducted into The Grand Old Opry, alongside the International Country artist that gave Gary his first paying gig, Opry star Stonewall Jackson. Eric Clapton and JJ Cale won a Grammy last year for their collaboration, Road to Endocino. The new JJ Cale CD Roll On is released this week with tour dates coming for the west coast.
Musicians on Cloudy Day are: J.J. Cale (guitar, vocals, piano);(guitar)James Burton (guitar); Christine Lakeland (guitar, organ, Moog,); Dennis Solee (saxophone); Leon Russell (piano); Nick Rather (bass); Jim Keltner and Gary Allen (drums)...
Reviews
Brilliant...
This record is one of Cale's best...
If the album only had one song, "Cloudy Day", it would still be fantastic ;)
One of my favourites!
I own all JJ's discography (on CD and vinyl). "Shades" is one of my favourites. There are some tunes unique for JJ style that represent a change in his musical style: "Wish I had not said That and "Cloudy Day". In my opinion, "Shades" is a starting point for a different musical attitude. Highly recommended for all JJ's music fans.
If I had to chose only one artist to hear play music for the rest of my life, it would be JJ Cale. Prolific, completely unique and almost always providing an underlying tale.
Cloudy Day is my favorite song by JJ.
