Gathering of the Vibes is a unique annual festival experience, now in its 14th year. The Vibes began in 1996 as a way for
fans to celebrate the life of Jerry Garcia, the Grateful Dead frontman who passed the previous summer. Each summer, the
event has paired legendary performers with emerging acts to appeal to a wide cross-section of music fans. Over the years,
a diverse group of artists, including Phil Lesh, Bob Weir & Ratdog, The Allman Brothers, James Brown, Gov't Mule, moe.,
Les Claypool, David Grisman, The Disco Biscuits, and John Scofield, among many, many others, have joined us at GOTV.
While the music certainly keeps folks entertained, the thing that separates Gathering of the Vibes from other festivals is
The Vibe Tribe -- the amazing group of attendees that come out each year. GOTV is a family event that reunites old
friends, while helping those that arrived as strangers leave as new friends. We're truly blessed that you folks who come
out to the Vibes are such a respectful, kind, and caring group. Our unparalleled fans set the tone for the event, and
have helped carry us through 13 amazing years.
If you're already part of the Vibe Tribe, we look forward to seeing you again this summer. If 2009 will be your first
