GT playing "The Smallest Coin" LIVE at Guilfest 2007 :
Greetings ...
I am a guitar-playing singer songwriter based in Guildford - half an hour South of London, UK.
I'm a full-time musician, and play regular gigs in and around the Guildford area. As well as original songs in my set, I also play "request shows" with set lists bouncing from Bob Dylan to Bob Marley, Neil Young to Neil Finn, James Taylor to James Blunt, David Bowie to David Gray, The Stones to the Stereophonics, The Kooks to The Killers, U2 to 10cc, Sting to Snow Patrol, Radiohead to Razorlight, Pink Floyd to Maroon 5, Green Day to Coldplay..
There are some new original songs on the boil at the moment, but for the time being I have a four-song EP available from my website. It was produced by Rob Blackham and Richard Askew (for SCALLYwag), and features cello by Rachel Drayson, double bass by Adam Wolters, Jerry le Fevre on percussion and Richard Askew on piano.
It's been a great summer of gigs, and I've been lucky enough to play at three festivals ... trying to keep out of the rain.
NB: The Goldrush .....
I'm currently rehearsing a new acoustic project with guitarists Rob Blackham and Cameron Messer ... we're going by the name of The Goldrush and are creating a set list of very faithful acoustic renditions of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young songs. The line-up includes three acoustic guitars (with additional mandolin & harmonica) and full three-part harmony vocals.
We've had a couple of local gigs recently, and as soon as more gigs are announced they will be listed on the Goldrush mySpace page. (You can find this in my Top Friends below.) It's a very exciting project and, especially if you're a fan of CSN music, you should try to check us out sometime.
Thanks for visiting, keep dry and here's to an Indian summer!
Keep it LIVE.
Gav

I see you are playing a lot in Guildford, do you put any of those nights on at all or are they like open mics? Would be great to come down to a few of them. Hope your well and keep up the good work! Sam.
