Bio
Burning one of the few torches in the musical darkness of the West Cumbrian coast, singer songwriter Gavin McKew was justifiably named TGM's 2008 “Best Solo Act in Cumbria & SW Scotland”..... With gigs in every corner of his home county he has built up a local fanbase that would be the envy of any successful city dwelling band. Armed only with his acoustic guitar, Gavin has also been impressing audiences and industry types alike with high energy performances at venues such as Manchester's Academy and the Zanzibar in Liverpool aswell as slots at festivals such as CockRock and B-Fest..... He has supported the likes of Twisted Wheel and the Rascals and cites his influences as everything from Floyd to Bowie and Morrissey to Glasvegas. In his own words “Good songs performed well, that simple”..... As Winter becomes Spring Gavin sets up camp in Liverpool's legendary Parr St studios to begin work on his as yet untitled debut EP. Set for release in the early part of 2010 the release will also be supported by extensive dates up and down this fair isle..... With 2010 looking to be a breakthrough year, he is currently in negotiations with management and publishers and looks forward to seeing you at a show near you sometime soon..... ..
