The New York Times called his music "Whimsical Jazz", the legendary Queen guitarist Brian May gave a big thumb up to his version of Bohemian Rhapsody(entirely performed, shot and edited by Giulio Carmassi), he's been signed by AM records and released a duet and a music video with Emmy Rossum for Geffen Records.
His first score was for a 35mm feature dramedy that was selected in a dozen international film festival, was released in the american theaters and got international DVD distribution.
He starred as an actor in a Kool Shen music video (rapper from the most famous French rap band called NTM) for Universal.
He's scoring the movie "1-900" with John Turturro and the sci fi drama "Escape to Donegal" with Alan Cumming,
he's played live in front of 100,000 people, played on America's Got Talent, on RAI (the italian TV), won or been a finalist in all the most important international songwriting competitions, he's graduated with the highest grade as a classical pianist, and as a recording engineer.
Graduated in Film and TV at UCLA and learned over the years every instrument short of violin, viola and oboe.
At 28 Giulio Carmassi, is starting a promising career as a performer and composer in the international circuit.
Currently represented by one of the most prestigious management firms in the world, Affirmative Entertainment, Giulio still believes in orchestrating his own material, in not using "templates" to determine what will be the right music for a scene, and in choosing quality and real instruments over money and easy commercial choices.

Born in Lucca and raised between Pisa and Florence, in Italy, Giulio Carmassi moved to LA at 22 after a 6 months visit to Paris, and has just moved to Brooklyn, NY.
Among his obsessions, there are Monette Trumpets, Hamburg Steinways, Charles Chaplin, Fellini, Barbra Streisand's Voice, Queen, John Barry, Ennio Morricone, Antonio Mure's restaurants, Brooklyn girls, the ocean and Piero Ciampi.
