In 2007 I started my a painting a day blog. The idea to write this blog is to give my growing numbers of friends and collectors worldwide a direct interchange with my work. For this blog it is my aim to produce a new small sized painting every working day, usually done with acrylics on a panel of 15 x 15 cm (6” x 6”).
The paintings are exclusively for sale on my blog. The paintings either have a low fixed price or are auctioned on my blog or ebay . If you would like to own a blog painting just send me an email stating the title. You will receive the painting safely packaged and ready to frame. Please check out the ‘Handling’ and ‘Guarantee’ pages for further information and Special Offers on my blog for special offers and auctions on ebay.
Make sure you don't miss any post by subscribing to my blog. Whenever I post a new painting you're the first to know! It's easy, free and you will be informed. The emails you get have images embedded so I won't be flooding you're inbox.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you have any questions or remarks. I would be happy receiving your comments and respond to them personally!
kind regards,
Gerard Boersma

about the paintings & artist
Likewise the famous Dutch painter and my relative Jopie Huisman I’m well known in my native country for my highly detailed works of art.My hyperrealist paintings are about everyday situations people encounter in modern city landscapes.
I registrate common people on the streets, in public transport, in stores, museums or just show the surroundings people are living in. Because these situations are often gone in a second I take pictures of them, which I later use as a starting point for my realist paintings.
The paintings tempt to stand still at things usually don't observed. The loneliness of some people, the lack of communication between people, how people retire within oneself while waiting or just the surroundings we encounter everyday. A moment in modern urban living with all the distortion that comes with it. And then it's obvious that the situations usually don't observed say a whole lot about todays society.
I've been painting professionally over 8 years and exhibited all over my native country and abroad. Paintings were shown in New York, Florence and Amsterdam amongst countless other cities and are collected worldwide, including the permanent collection of the Fries Museum which showed my work twice already.
Paintings have been included at art fairs such as Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam, the LA Art Show, Los Angeles and the Bridge Art Fair in New York in 2009. I'm currently represented by Artemisia, Warnars & Warnars and internationally by Amstel Gallery.
