News as of 2007...
Denver's Ghost Buffalo have just released their 2nd full length for Suburban Home Records.
The first album (S/T) was released in February of 2006. After a few short tours Mike Ricketts, Tom Ventura and Josh Coyle all left the band to pursue other projects and move on with life. Early in 2007 guitarist Matt Bellinger (formerly of Peoria, IL’s and Denver’s own Planes Mistaken For Stars) and vocalist/guitarist Marie Litton found themselves without a rhythm section. They contemplated doing something as a two piece and recording an all acoustic record but felt the need to go in the complete opposite direction. Matt had recently been introduced to drummer Jed Kopp of the band LandLordLand. Jed expressed an interest in playing with them and was quickly initiated into the Buffalo camp. As an added bonus Jed's longtime musical companion Ben Williams (also of LandLordLand) saved the day and stepped in on bass. The band began writing immediately and by summer were on the road truckin' through a three week west coast tour. After settling back in from the road Ghost Buffalo finished their writing process and were in the studio by October. For this endeavor the band chose local studio master Bob Ferbrache. Bob has recorded and performed on many amazing records, he has worked with 16 Horsepower, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Tarantella, Blood Axis and many many more. After 2 months in Bob's Absinthe Studio, Ghost Buffalo have emerged with a new 10 song album titled "The Magician".
"Unless you were one of the lucky ones at the Larimer Lounge Thursday night, you already missed Ghost Buffalo's CD release show. But you can still stop into Twist & Shout for their excellent new Suburban Home release, "The Magician."
Ghost Buffalo is long known for an electric live show, with singer Marie Litton leading the dark, sonic assault. Its new record is like a rum-soaked Girl Scout cookie: dangerous, dense and enlightened, regardless of its brittle appearance."
A wonderful and rocking show last night. It was great to be there. Thanks for blessing Denver with your amazing music. I will miss the Buffalo more than words can express. Please release the new music soon. Very Best Regards, Jerry
