“Ghostfire is a wild, arcane, eccentric party from another London… in another time.”
We raise our hats to the likes of Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Ennio Morricone, The Cramps, Johnny Cash and many more. But make no mistake... we're not trying to sound like any of them.
Sounds Like
"Voices of the past, voices of the future..."
Some say we're melodic, atmospheric and powerful, with implications of sea shanty, spaghetti western, voodoo and burlesque....
Electric Spectre says "...Ghostfire sound like what would happen if you stuck The Cure, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a steam organ and Tom Waits into a blender, dressed the result in top hats and told them to entertain a drunken punk crowd!"
"UNMISTAKABLY BRITISH AND UNMISTAKABLY STEAMPUNK!" (Steampunk Magazine)
"UNIQUE IN AN OVER-CROWDED SCENE!" (Guestlist Magazine)
"A DELIGHTFULLY MESSY MIX OF FOLK, ROCK, SHANTY AND DARK THREATENING POP." (Pure Rawk)
"PRAISES DON'T GET SUNG MUCH HIGHER THAN THIS. STEAMPUNK JUST GOT ITS OFFICIAL SOUND!" (Electric Spectre)
"PULSATING SONGS AND AN INDICATION OF REAL TALENT!" (Mick Mercer)
"I CAN'T SING THIS BAND'S PRAISES ENOUGH. A UNIQUE SOUND IS HIGHLY APPARENT AND YOUR ATTENTION WILL NEVER FADE FROM THE MUSIC." (Rock Pulse)
"ROUSING STEAMPUNK!" (Organ)
"HOWLING MAD!" (Tom Robinson)
"You seek my story as you gaze in wonder, it's just as yours though a heartbeat behind..."
The music of Ghostfire resonates to the debauched decadence and absinthe-fuelled anarchy of life in the Eighties...
The 1880s !
Skulking the cobbled streets, lurking in the shadows of the darkest alleyways, dare you glance beyond the safety of the guttering gaslights... To where the gin-soaked moxie plies her trade, the dipper watches his mark and the drunken sailor staggers blindly...
It’s this shadowy world of villains, rogues and rascals that Ghostfire calls home. In the darkest corners of the flash taverns; we raise glasses with vagabonds, footpads, pirates and thieves. All seeking sanctuary in the anonymity only notorious London Town can afford...
Sincerely looking forward to having you in the "pages" of Big Top Magazine - let's make it happen, and bring you to this side of the Sea! www.bigtopmagazine.com

Your set at Lincoln was brilliant and a highlight for me. Candles on the keyboards was a nice touch. I got your EP and love it (especially 'Barrio'). But I need more. Record something.
