Hello. Please do delete this comment if you so wish.
We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:
http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
Right now we're doing a massive sale on all of our full-colour water-resistant stickers, with 25% OFF EVERYTHING! All of our prices include free UK delivery and our stickers are perfect for bands and promotion, so come check us out!
I have fond memories of Mikey and Mark both going red in the face and nearly passing out. Boy oh boy will I miss the sight of their heinys wobbling. And Danny inexplicably asking for MORE treble from his guitar (?). Me making people’s noses bleed with my overtuned snare drum. I wish my fellow robots all the best in their future musical endeavours, and hope to see you all again soon from behind the rims.
Civilians - make sure you come to the final farewall Robot gig on Monday 25th at the Edward VII - witness for yourself the charm, the charisma and the warm fuzzy feeling you get when watching a Giant Robot live and uncut.
Hoowee it's been quite an adventure. I thought I'd take a minute, just sitting right there, to tell you how I became the drummer of a town called Giant Robot. Back in nineteen-diggity-two (we called it diggity because the Kaiser stole our word for 20) I was wondering through the fjords of Norwich when a twelve foot wookie approached me. He told me his name was Mikey P. Vader, and I was his only hope. I told him there were many cures for male pattern baldness, but no, he needed help of a different kind. He required my drumming skills, knowledge, expertise and wisdom to complete a beat combo called, in short, Giant Robot and the City of Tokyo. I accepted with some trepidation - my newfound bandmates were both hairy and random. Using all the power I could muster, I withdrew my rusty wooden sticks and played my first recital at the local village hall - Norwich Arts Centre (which in my day was called Premises and featured only early Christian music).
Within the movements of the first allegro (whose name escapes me), I realised that this music was both original and plagirific. Mixing the delicate oboe solos of Pavement with the fuzzed out slackness of Wagner. The lyrics talked of holidays, sun, drinking and chemical elements - subjects I had previously only associated with 70s British sitcoms.
The beat combo was an instant success, often pulling crowds running into double figures. One night we quite literally filled the Arts Centre bar. People had to wait to get drinks! Crazy days. Our travels took us around the world - from the east coast of norfolk all the way to Norwich. From Norwich itself as far down as London, keeping strictly to the A11. And many, many garages and shit breaks along the way. Some of my fondest memories? I still don't know any of the song names, and I fear it may now be too late. I like the one with the 'dooby doo' section in it, and the one where I have to eat a drumstick. ...
intense set on friday, awesome. mark, i still have your orange lead sorry, ill give it to ellie thats probs the quickest way. theres some piccies of the gig up at www.theflob.co.uk/band/2008/epic3005 xxx
Thank you...we try to dig on everyones interest's or the sounds they enjoy,..We like what you had going on your page...and figured we would take the chance, you would like what we enjoy the most...and thats make music...but for the most part... now that we got that horrible and cheesy statement out of the way....this looks like another typical, but somewhat long band comment... But heck at least its a comment... Right?
