About me: About me:
GirlChild Press publishes the work of girls and women who know what it means to soar. We are looking for work that is passionate, authentic, and well written. Not interested in "I'm the #1 Princess of My Pimp" or anything along those lines. You know what I'm talking about:) The Press' first book, Growing Up Girl: An Anthology of Voices from Marginalized Spaces has been wildly successful. The second anthology Just Like A Girl: A Manifesta! will be released August 2008 .
Just Like A Girl is a rough and tumble, sassy, kick-ass travelogue through the the bumpy, powerful, action-packed world of GIRL. A world where women and girls know how to pick themselves up and brush themselves off. These are the brave girls. The clever girls. The funny girls. The girls who know there is no sin in being born one.
Check out the blog and catch up on all the happenings.
Who I'd like to meet: Bookstores, book groups, group homes, shelters, detention centers, alternative schools, churches, and sister circles that are interested in booking readings and discussion groups. Check Out GirlChild Press

I have decided to post a weekly bulletin on issues that affect us. feel free to stop by and read and enjoy, because very few can put emotions on paper. SO read inhale, embrace, enjoy and Accept!!!!
Recognize what you can change and what you can't.
In every moment, accept that everything is as it should be.
I have accepted that my body is round and fat and GLORIOUS. JUST LOVE IT.
YOU accept that I don't do things the way everyone else does. JUST EMBRACE IT.
Now you accept that sometimes your belly hurts and sometimes you don't have enough money to pay the light bill and sometimes LIFE IS JUST TO HARD. just cry and move through it.
Accept that you can't do it all- and who would want to anyway?? Accept a kind word. don't apologize.
Accept a gift-no matter how big, how small.
Say THANK YOU without embarrassment.
Accept that life isn't always fair and find the wonder in that, too.
Don't accept things that aren't yours, like misdirected shame and blame.
