   About Give Away The Plot
"Mannequin Peepshow" due Summer 2009!

Give Away The Plot formed in June 2006, membership then including Andy Ferris (guitar/vox), Shawn Hoffman (guitar), Jake Nichols (drums), and Seth McDuffee (bass/vox). Under the premise of four musicians writing a concept album, the group embarked on what then became "The Ecliptic." The first album tells the story of one's last days on earth, whilst knowingly reaching an apocalypse. In their baby steps as a band, GATP went the experimental, arty route, while trying maintain the hooks of a debut record. Soon following "The Ecliptic" release, McDuffee left the band.

In early 2008, Give Away The Plot began writing on their follow-up disc, "Mannequin Peepshow." Wanting to stray away from such a constrictive topic, the band went back to regular, sporadic songwriting, individually, and as a band. In this time, the band had a few live bassists, and played gigs in support of their first album. That summer, the band's "Ecliptic" track, "Nostalgia," was featured on the Future Destination Records compilation, "The Good Times," a beginning in potentially reaching the band to a wider audience.

The band's sound is noticeably evolving, blending hints of alternative/indie rock, with a ranging sound-scape of psychedelic and experimental ideas, Give Away The Plot is approaching it's destination of artistic freedom.

With strong ties to Cedar Falls, Iowa City, and Dubuque, DSA is quickly gaining momentum across the state. And with a strong showing during The HuB's Battle of the Bands, its easy to see why. They are joined by another BOTB weekly winner Slip Silo. 2 great bands on 1 great night!

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Our new album is out on Friday, May 1st, and nobody anywhere has it yet. If you buy only one the price is $12. But if you buy more than one, the price is less than $9 each. So buy 10. It will cost you about $90, but you'll be able to sell them to your friends for $12 each and make a profit.
