My buddy Eric from the Eric and Carson Show on Flint's Banana 101.5 FM has a new blog site that you all need to check out.
http://www.thetumbrel.com
He's got tons of interesting political commentary as well as some of his own creative writing. He's also interested in making the site available to those who may have some writing they would like to share. I opted to do this, so Eric has posted, for me, a kind of fractured autobiography that I have worked on erratically for the past 2 years. My writing can be found here:
A few weeks ago Givensix had the life changing experience of recording with legendary record producer Ron Saint Germain (311, Tool, Bad Brains, and hundreds more!). We lived and recorded with him for 6 days to produce a 2 song demo that will be the sickest thing you've ever heard from us. The recording took place at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton with Chuck Alkazian at the helm, who also has a long and impressive list of projects.
For those of you that don't know what a record producer does think movie director for music. Producers are the masterminds behind a band's signature sound, re-arranging, tweaking, and sometimes over-hauling completely to bring out the absolute best of an artist. Ron, in addition to being a titanic producer with a jaw dropping track record, is a high energy hilarious guru of sound who gave us enough stories for a lifetime.
We have big plans for this demo. It will be released as the lead off tracks for a fourth insane self produced album we hope to put out this year. It will be shopped all over to drum up interest from labels. It will also be the catalyst for a massive radio campaign.
Things are bound to get crazy, but we're committed to riding this out and we need everyone to come along for the ride. Our fans are the most important part of the Givensix sonic equation. Come to the shows, tell your friends, call the radio stations, and be a part of the Givensix community.
GIVENSIX ROCKS, Yea I miss screaming that at shows. Thought I'd stop by and say I still love you all and I hope to make it to a show soon. Miss you four and can't wait to see you guys!!! Sorry I can't make it saturday either!!! Best of luck. ~Myst
Please check us out and let us know what you think. The recordings are from practice so dont give much thought to the quality of the recordings. We are currently in the studio working on our debut cd. Your feedback and input is very important to us. We appreciate your friendship and support. Thank you for your time.
