About me:
I am a Seattle based classical-jazz guitarist who has been playing for 20 years. I was originally a rock oriented guitar player, but slowly moved away from that as time went on. As far as guitar playing goes, fingerpicking styles usually get my attention more than anything else. I was always interested in music from a very early age. I idolized Elton John as a small kid, and remember being exposed to my parent's record collection by the time I was six or seven. By the time I was in my teens, I was listening to a lot of jazz and jazz fusion. I remember paying attention to Miles Davis, John Klemmer, and Dave Brubeck in particular. I think a lot of that style found its way into my compositions. I have previously worked as a studio musician, having played on albums by Jason Trachtenberg and The Conspiracy. I also played on some demos tracks made in Los Angeles.
I have also hiked and done lots of non-technical climbs. So far, I've done about 80 summits in Washington State, including Mount St Helens (in 1997). I still think the Teanaway area is the best part of the Cascades.
I have recorded two CD's, which I sell at my gigs. I also play piano a bit on the side. As a pianist, however, I tend to play more classic rock and pop tunes from the late 60's to early 80's. I hope to get involved in soundtrack production for films and tv, as I think my music would probably be best suited for that sort of thing.
I also hope to continue to get better as I get older.
