C'est en expérimentant autour de
quelques classiques, à commencer par "Vuelvo Al Sur"
d'Astor Piazzolla et entourés d'une équipe d'experts (des
argentins de Paris, une espagnole au coeur du sujet, une violoniste classique
branchée jazz) que Philippe Cohen Solal, Christoph H. Müller
et Eduardo Makaroff mettent au point leur premier maxi, "Vuelvo Al
Sur". Celui-ci ne ne tardera pas à devenir un classique chez
de nombreux DJ. Suivront "Triptíco", "Santa María
(del Buen Ayre)" et l'album "La Revancha Del Tango" en
2001.
Le disque va tourner sur toute la planète, tandis
que Gotan Project entame un périple sur les scènes du monde
entier, du Japon aux Etats-Unis a passant par Buenos Aires. Depuis, le
trio a beaucoup appris, et avec "Lunático" ils sont les
mêmes et différents. Comme annoncé d'emblée
avec le premier single : "Diferente".
Non, décidément, le tango n'a pas dit son
dernier mot.

Gotan Project's members Philippe
Cohen Solal, Christoph Müller and Eduardo
Makaroff met in the late 1990's through a mutual passion for the combinatio
of sound with image, electronic and acoustic music.
In 2001 Gotan Project broke new ground in tango and electronica
with their debut album 'La Revancha Del Tango' (which has sold in excess
of a million copies worldwide), and have played shows everywhere from
Tel Aviv to Tokyo and in between. For their second studio album "Lunático",
they really wanted to explore both tango and folkloric music from Argentina
a lot further than we had before. |
