Au début des années 2000, le trio Philippe Cohen Solal, Eduardo Makaroff et Christoph H. Müller signèrent « La revancha del tango », un disque qui remettait le tango au coeur du grand concert mondial. L’album s’impose sur le dance-floor et impose un nouveau son, celui de Gotan Project. Une marque de fabrique souvent photocopiée, jamais égalée... Presque dix ans plus tard, l’album est plébiscité comme l’un des meilleurs de la décennie par The Guardian, Gotan Project a écoulé depuis plus de deux millions de galettes, certifiées platine de la France à l’Argentine.
