1999 gründete Bjorn Alexander Brem GOTHMINISTER. Das Debütalbum „Gothic Electronic Anthems" erschien 2003, wurde von begeisterten Kritiken seitens der nationalen sowie internationalen Presse begrüßt und schaffte es unter die Top 3 der niederländischen Club-Charts. Die Schlagzeile im Metal Hammer UK lautete „Die Untoten sind wiedergeboren". Hierzulande konnten GOTHMINISTER bereits mehrere erfolgreiche Club-Singles in den Top 15 verbuchen, darunter „Angel" und „Devil". Sie sind bei allen großen deutschen Festivals wie dem WGT und Dark Storm Festival aufgetreten, wurden bereits dreimal in Folge zum M..Era Luna eingeladen und haben gemeinsam mit Bands wie Oomph!, In Extremo und Within Temptation vor über 10 000 begeisterten Fans beim Schattenreich Festival in der Oberhausener ARENA gespielt.
Ihr zweites Album Empire of Dark Salvation katapultierte GOTHMINISTER auf eine völlig neue Ebene. In Norwegen schrieben sie Geschichte, als sie mit Tristania als Support der erste Gothic Industrial-Act waren, der mit Unterstützung des Konzertinstituts Rikskonsertene auf eine Nightliner-Tour durch die größten Städte aufbrach, und Norwegens größte Musikmesse Even Bylarm organisierte anlässlich der Veröffentlichung von Empire of Dark Salvation ein Gothic-Event. In Europa haben Gothminister Empire of Dark Salvation im Rahmen ihrer Tour mit Lacuna Coil, Theatre of Tragedy und Mortiis bei über 100 Shows in über 20 Ländern vorgestellt. Der Hit „Monsters" landete auf dem 11. Platz der Deutschen Alternative Charts, und große Erfolge in Übersee zeitigten GOTHMINISTERs erste Headliner-Tour durch die USA, die die Band von New York nach Hollywood führte.
2008 ist es nun endlich soweit: GOTHMINISTERs lang erwartetes drittes Album „Happiness In Darkness" erscheint am 14. November 2008 bei e-Wave/Drakkar/SonyBMG. Randvoll mit noch großartigeren und eingängigeren Songs denn je zuvor, zeigt dieses dritte Album GOTHMINISTER auf dem bisherigen Höhepunkt ihres kreativen Schaffens!!! Die Veröffentlichung der neuen Clubsingle „Dusk Till Dawn" ist für den Herbst 2008 geplant und wird begleitet von einem sensationellen, einzigartigen Musikvideo mit Live-Mitschnitten von Norwegens höchstgelegenem Rock-Konzert auf dem Berg Romsdalshorn, in der wunderschönen norwegischen Gebirgslandschaft 1.550 m(!) über Trollveggen.

GOTHMINISTER was formed by Bjorn Alexander Brem in 1999. GOTHMINISTER released the debutalbum; „Gothic Electronic Anthems" in 2003 and got fantastic critics in both national and international press. The album reached top 3 on the Dutch clublists. Metal Hammer UK headlines read "the undead are reborn". GOTHMINISTER has had several successful clubsingles in the top 15 in Germany, like "Angel" and "Devil". GOTHMINISTER played all the big German Festivals like WGT, Dark Storm Festival, three years in a row invited to the M..Era Luna Festival, and performing for more than 10.000 people at the Schattenreich Festival at ARENA in Oberhausen together with bands like Oomph! , In Extremo and Within Temptation.
The second album, „Empire of Dark Salvation" took Gothminister to a totally new level. In Norway Gothminister became historic by being the very first gothic industrial band to be sponsored by Rikskonsertene to do a nightliner tour in the biggest cities, supported by Tristania. Even Bylarm ("Norwegian Popcomm") organized a gothic event in connection with the release. In Europe, Gothminister did more than 100 shows in over 20 countries to promote Empire of Dark Salvation, touring with Lacuna Coil, Theatre of Tragedy and Mortiis. The smash hit "Monsters" reached no.11 on the German Alternative Charts, and big success also overseas lead to GOTHMINISTERs first US headliner tour, taking on New York to Hollywood.
In 2008 the time has come for the long awaited third album „Happiness In Darkness" to be released on Drakkar/SonyBMG November 14th. Packed with greater and catchier songs than ever, GOTHMINISTER is with his third album on the peak of performance!!! The new club single " Dusk Till Dawn" will be released in autumn 2008 together with a fantastic and unique music video with real live footage from Norway..s highest rock concert on "Romsdalshorn" on 1550 m(!) above Trollveggen in the beautiful Norwegian mountains.
