Grammatics formed around April 2006 in a terraced house basement just outside Leeds city centre. We soon found that we share many mutual loves...argument, doing things in the most difficult possible manner and general pretentiousness. We are all deluded with grandeur. We write songs faster than we can learn them, rarely repeat song sections without warping them into something different and attempt to utilise any instruments we can find regardless of quality or tone. Grammatics are a stylistically diverse band and like to hop though most of the genres related to indie-rock. Maybe we are stylistically incoherent. Maybe we are self-indulgent. Hopefully we will please the ears of those susceptible to that kind of nonsense. Maybe you'll like our music...we don't especially care if you don't, otherwise it would hurt…The danger’s where you care...
We run and maintain the Myspace ourselves and try to reply to everyone so bare with us if it takes a while.
Thanks.x
hey Grammatic (sic Fibbers), do you know when you will be previewing the new Vague Archive single? are you waiting for a radio or video debut or will this profile be showcasing it? can't wait to hear it, the video stills look intriguing too. You know that feeling when you click on your mp3 player and DILEMMA kicks in and you blush, tingle and think, again, that you are listening to the most exciting thing happening in music, for me, since Modern Life Is Rubbish? well you wouldn't would you cause I reckon with the playbacks of the album in your head your egos are big enough as they are! ;) I honestly hope things happen with this single, when I see you you seem to be getting loads of new gear and Dom still has those Tangerine bins, this hope is for you Dom! It's been a ride to see this band develop and I guess I hope we become strangers, cause you deserve that success and amount of people around you, and I wouldn't do nothing but smile as you ask my name when i ask for an autograph! :)
Yeah, Ian will be there too. I unfortunately cannot get drunk as I have to drive home. We can save the drunken antics for when you guys are in Sheff. Think we're meeting in the dry dock first probably around 7. I'm sure this isn't cool enough for you anymore (?!) but I'll send you a text when we get into Leeds. xxx
Thanks hun, I will defo be coming to see you but Ian might be down in London watching the Arsenal - Man U game. I'll keep you posted. Oh also are you going to see Foals on Thursday at the academy? xx
