The seed of fire was born in the Summer of 2003 by four friends who shared the same common vision of getting together to krank up, jam out, and have some fun. For something that started out as a hoaxy-jokesy side-project band with little to no expectations, it certainly has gelled into a well oiled and defined machine which is reinventing the wheels of today‘s music and bringin the balls, originality, and FUN back to ROCKnROLL. The self proclaimed “Revolators” say that they headed down South to make a deal with the Devil at the Crossroads in return for its insatiably potent sound dubbed as “DIRTCORE”, a unique style which defines Delta Country Blues, penetrated by Monstrous Guitar Riffs, Red Hot Slippery Slide Guitar, Thunderous Bass and Drums, Soulful yet Sinister/Howlin’/Moonshine/Grit-Gravel Vocals, fronted by a Anthematic Attitude that boasts SEX, BOOZE, and ROCKn'ROLL! The band’s lineup consists not only of its core members; BROWNBAG JOHNSON (Slinger/Vox), BUD BLACK( Thunder), WHITEY TRASHER (Skins), and HOWLIN’ JACK BOONE (Barker/Lead Vox), but also incorporates THE BBQ GIRLZ- super sexy/devilish female singer/dancers, and lots of crowd participation from its diehard following and lively hood... The almighty, BBQ NATION!!! Anyone who has seen Graveyard BBQ live knows that it’s an event not to be missed. Their stage prescence, high energy performance, and over the top antics seduces the audience leaving their jaws dropped, faces melted, horns raised, fists pumpin, minds erased, necks sore, panties wet, and wanting more. In 2005, they released their debut self-produced record “Greatest Hits Volume 1” which included original members, Frontman- Rev.BRIXX and Skinsman- PETERBILT WILSON. Shortly after, the band got its first big break by winning the "Be A Guitar Hero" National Contest which immortalized and features their song "Cheat on the Church" on the soundtrack of the hit Playstation 2 video game, GUITAR HERO. In 2007, they released the follow up to their debut appropriately titled, “Greatest Hits Volume II” which brought in new blood and fire to the mix with the addition of new Lead Singer HOWLIN' JACK and drummer BILLY Z.BUBB, and included such classics as, "The Clothes That Makes The Man", "Ride The Stache", "By The Grace of the Grill", and their self embodied version of ACDC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" The record displays a brilliantly well crafted and honed in sound that makes you believe that the band really did sell their souls to the Devil at the Crossroads!
After the departure of Billy Z. Bubb, the band recruited the final missing peice to its monstrous sinergy, drummer WHITEY TRASHER. In 2008, they toured the U.S extensively, and filmed music videos for their songs, "The Clothes That Makes The Man" and "BBQ NATION" with legendary videographer, Ian Barret (Alice in Chains, Down, Sevendust, Godsmack) They were chosen to headline the annual Boston Freedom Rally HEMPFEST, which they BBQ'd for over 25,000 people, and won the MASSCANN/NORML "BEST MUSIC ACT" of the Year Award. Already in 2009 alone... Graveyard BBQ did yet another highly successful independant U.S TOUR in MARCH which wrapped up at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin,TX where the band won the HIGH TIMES MAGAZINE "BEST NEW/UNDERGROUND ARTIST" Doobie Award of 2009. They're currently in talks with a MAJOR Blockbuster Motion Picture for use of songs in the soundtrack which will be coming out in AUGUST 2009! (more details coming soon!!!) And for all you PORN fans out there... you can catch the LEGENDARY, and "BIG" BBQ fan, Ron Jeremy wearing a Graveyard BBQ "Ride The Stache" shirt in his latest adult film.
Ultimately, Graveyard BBQ offers something for EVERYONE while supplying SUBSTANCE, CONVICTION, ORIGINALITY and most importantly FUN!!!, something very much absent in today's music world.
Graveyard BBQ has certainly made quite a name for itself, building its buzz from a rapidly growing worldwide cult following, and creating a sound to last for time and beyond… as fans will agree. At the end of the day, Graveyard BBQ proudly vows to carry on the torch of the legends who have paved the way before them, and to show the world that the true spirit of Rock N’ Roll is ALIVE and WELL. The band plans to embark on more full throttle touring and world conquering as their carnivorous hunger and demonic possession permits them to remain relentless until they reach the top! A BBQ NATION awaits us all, only 1 God, GRILL, Indivisible!!! ALL HAIL THE BBQ NATION! "IF YOU AIN'T WITH US, YER AGAINST US"
I saw you guys at this year's Hemp Fest at Boston Common, and am so happy to have FINALLY been able to see you live. I wanted to buy a t-shirt to wear it to the show, but, like most bands, you don't make shirts in my size. So, I was forced to make my own. (I wear a 5XLT/6XLT for future references, and in case you wanna come out with larger shirts for your larger fans.)... I went to a discount clothing store, bought a plain white t-shirt and (with the help of my magic markers) created a design to comemorate the event I was going to and the band I was going to see... I hope ya'll like it!
{Due to minor complications (because Myspace and Photobucket decided to be a pain in my ass) I am not able to post the pictures of my "fine work of art" as a comment on your profile. So to view my design, please go to my "Artwork" album in My Photos. I would really like to know what ya'll think!}
Just like to tell you bout how much I appreciate you guys, but its hard to put into words. Thanks again for everything! I cant begin to explain how much I have enjoyed the shows I have been to. You guys are truly musicans. XO
