Green Giant was formed in November of 2005 in Richmond, Virginia as a three member band focusing on original material along with the band's interest in R&B, Southern Rock, and Bluesy Funk. Founding members, Terrell Bowers, guitar and vocals,
Johnny Watkins, drums & percussion and Bobby Watkins, bass and vocals, all shared a common interest in music that ventured on the harder edge, affectionately coined by Johnny as "heavy mellow rock". In April 2008, keyboardist Joe Kennebeck joined the band contributing his ivory talent to the mix. After a number of gigs in the Richmond music scene, the band desired to add a new level of sound to complement their hard driving, jammin' effect and began seeking a second guitar player. Well, they hit a gold mine by finding Jack Mace, an accomplished guitarist, who added a new layer for the desired sound of Green Giant. With the addition of Jack, Green Giant was poised to continue the tradition of getting in the groove, and most importantly, having fun with their audience. In the summer of 2009, founding member Terrell Bowers chose to take early retirement from the band and is living the quiet life on the coast of South Carolina.
Greetings Green Giant... Sounds good fellas! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Thank you for including me among your friends, and if you have the time, I would sincerely appreciate you listening to my tunes and sharing your thoughts. Hope to see you at the Jewish Mother! All the best to you, Bobby Snard... ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪
Where did you record "Sweet Jane"? Back in high school I just about wore the sound out of the grooves of my Mott the Hoople record, which has "SJ" on it.
Y'all deserve a comment! Keep that blues rock going! Have you ever thought of covering the Kingsmen song "Jolly Green Giant"? It's humorous and I think it would fit your sound.
