I read with interest your Books Without Borders article in the latest Wild River Review (www. wildriverreview. com)

To Quote: But what happens when a bookstore, solely driven by market forces rather than people, decides what you can and cannot choose to read? Your freedom starts to erode. You might not instantly recognize this the way you would if, say, your favorite supermarket chain stopped carrying milk because they made a bigger profit from diet sodas.
    -- End Quote

It is a sad state of affairs in almost all retain corners. Big Box's hunger for profits is fed only by our own ridiculous penny pinching. I pray for the day when our society stops accepting chains as THE place to buy. I love small shops, no matter what I'm buying. Unfortunately, they are getting as difficult to find as a phone booth.

Since the dollar is the loudest vote, I care to cast mine carefully. And I will gladly cast two at an independent vs. one at a chain.
