I'm a guitarist from Chicago now living in Los Angeles, CA. I've played guitar in my own bands such as Cupcakes(Dreamworks Records) and XMARSX (improvised music) over the years and have worked off and on as a hired musician for all kinds of artists/bands. While in Chicago I toured in bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Local H, and Machines of Loving Grace. I also played the electric zither in The Blue Man Group over a four year period.
Since 2002, I've been living in Los Angeles paying the bills as a hired touring musician and session player. I've toured with Jewel as her band leader and lead guitarist, the Goo Goo Dolls as their lead guitarist for four years, The Fire Theft, and just recently Liz Phair for the "Exile in Guyville" shows. I've recorded on albums by Jewel, Goo Goo Dolls, Avril Lavigne, Glen Phillips, Jeremy Enigk, RENT, Backstreet Boys and many others. I continue to write and record my own ambient guitar music. I love playing music and I feel fortunate to have been able to play with such a diverse range of bands/artists. I mean if you told me ten years ago that was going to tour with Sunny Day Real Estate and Local H and also record on pop records like Backstreet Boys, Jewel, Goo Goo Dolls, etc., I would've thought you were crazy. But afterall, it's all music and I love that I get to work in both worlds for the most part.
