Greta Smidt is a 17 year old classical pop singer originally from Lithuania. She has been singing since she was six years old and has been building her repertoire ever since. From then to now, Greta has competed in many Interntional and national competitions, sang with the most famous tenor in her country, sang in the Notre Dame, St. Paul's Cathedral, St. Giles Cathedral, and the Vatican with a world reknown group called the Renaissance singers. Recently, in the past 4 years, Greta Smidt had decided to use her voice to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims and created a fund titled "Hurricane Katrina Children's Education Fund" and raised over $13,000 by singing in the streets, at rotary clubs, and in front of Walmarts. In the summer of 2008, Greta went to New Orleans and donated that $13,000 to Laffayette Academy, and Warren Easton High School, two schools that were devasted by Hurricane Katrina. Since then, Greta has been working on some original music, that will hopefully be on a CD soon. As of the present, she is best known for her redition of Bella's Lullaby (melody (c) Greta Smidt, piano (c) Yiruma, lyrics (c) pocahontaslovexx) on Youtube.com (see video below). As of March 4, 2009, it has well over 130,000 hits, a number which grows by the hundreds daily. Although she had fun with the project, she is still continuing work on her new demo disc.
