About Gridlock 64
Gridlock 64 is a highly energetic cover band from Hampton Roads. The band plays all the top venues, including The Norva, The Granby Theater, Ted Constant Center for The Steve Miller pre-party, Hampton Block parties, and every stage at the Virginia Beach oceanfront! Formed in 2005, Gridlock 64 has a vast collection of songs in their repertoire, which covers nearly every genre. In September 2010, bassist, Paul Warren, and drummer extraordinaire, Brandon Clarke, joined the original members of Gridlock 64, Jim Mizelle and David Dinger. These four talented musicians provide you with a true G64 experience! It all comes with a very impressive light show and music that you become a part of! You just can’t help yourself…you become their friends, not just fans. Good friends, Good music, and Good times! If you’re looking for all that, look no further! Come and get GRIDLOCK’d!!

| Jim Mizelle teamed with Cary Greco (The Deloreans), Brentwood (Rock Star Parking), and Stan Banach, in 2002 to form the band Phynal Khutt. During that time he played various venues in the Hampton Roads and Williamsburg area, as well as eastern North Carolina. After the band split up in early 2004, he took some time off to get married and start a family. After nearly a year off, Jim began to get the itch to perform again, and began searching. He landed gigs with Downside and Fish Tank Diver, but really wasn't on the same page musically with either band, so he kept looking. In September of 2005, he found a group of guys that it "just clicked" with. Jim reemerged on the music scene to deliver his dynamic vocals as the front man for the band Gridlock 64. .. | David began playing acoustic guitar at age 14 and by age 21 he switched over to electric guitar because.... "I always liked the sounds of Hendrix, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Yes, Van Halen and instrumental rock". Learning to become a technician on the fret board,quickly consumed his life during most of the 80's music scene. He uses 5 to 6 fingers at times to execute two handed scale tap on's. He has the ardent respect of his fellow musicians and a devotion to his craft. His high energetic guitar sounds showcase his technique and ability to integrate the old school and new school sounds into modern rock. | < span style="font-weight: bold;"> Born and raised in Mathews, Virginia, Brandon has been playing the drums for 21 years. Brandon has performed with the following bands in the past; Splint, Broken Momentum and Standing Ground. Brandon has also opened up for the following bands: Papa Roach, Head P.E., Brett Michaels and has played with members of the VA Symphony... | Born and raised in Virginia, Paul recognized his calling at the age of 17. Sitting at home as a teenager listening to Larry Graham and Louis Johnson, Paul decided playing the bass was what he wanted to do. Since then, Paul has been working diligently to fullfill his dream of becoming one of the funkiest bass players in R&B. To enhance his talents, Paul has worked hard learning funky grooves and dance music. In 1983, Paul met his good friend bassist Victor Wooten who started introducing him to slaps and pops. Victor encouraged Paul to get out and start playing. Later, he met the Allman Brother's bassist Oteill Burbridge, that's when he started playing the six string bass. Paul has become one of Virgina's most acclaimed bass-players. Past work included recording and touring with Steve Winwood, guitarist Bobby Messano, R&B singer Linda Williams, Capital recoding artist Ryan Farish, Ronnie Laws, Bob Baldwin, and many others. Paul was named "Bassist of the Year" in 1997 by Pro Music and Sound and "Bassist of the Year" by Guitar Center in 2003. He has been averaging over 300 gigs a year; this includes a mixture of acoustic gigs, band gigs, and bass clinics all over the Mid-Atlantic. Most recently he has added 4 commercials to his resume. Paul is currently working on an instructional video called R&B Grooves. |
