    .... .. .. .. Hi every body! We're The Vanishing Act from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I guess the band started in one form or another in 2001 with a totally different line-up than the one you can see now, mainly consisting of members of Insurrection and also our good friend Matt 'Dez' Parent from Trioxin 245 and Sick Sad World...and I was in it as well, tee hee hee. That line-up fell through and after this Dez and I recorded a demo with a drum-machine in his basement. It was used as a four-way split between Sick Sad World, Human Jerky and FTW and copies of it are incredibly scarce (hell, I even lost my own copy a few years ago). Using those songs as a way of recruiting new band members, VA got lucky and Dan and Lee from the then up-and-coming (but not really anymore) band Mr. Roger's Death Bus. Being as Dan was an excellent drummer and Lee was an awesome guitarist, naturally this worked out perfectly and they've been in the band ever since. Yeah we basically stole their members, eh, what you going to do? Since then we've gone through about a zillion line-up changes and at the moment it's Dan on drums, Lee on guitar, our friend Gary on bass, Kevin (from Gary's band Elephantoms!) on vocals and me (Isaac) on guitar and vocals. Over time we came across a sound that was pretty heavy (mainly by accident). I guess it could be described as a wierd mixture between grind, death metal and emo. We now call ourselves 'Death Emo' to piss off metalheads, which is always fun. However, basically, we're really just a bunch of fun-loving kids who listen to a bit too much Carcass and Autopsy for their own good. .. So we were in the studio last week, recorded drums and guitars for 7 tracks.. more news on releases to come when the tracks are closer to completion so stay tuned! also dan is leaving us once again so once again we'll be going on hiatus. We have one last show booked. Dec 30th at hull house. .. More news! studio time is booked to lay down drum tracks for 6 or 7 tracks. some old some new. we're heading in this month, hopefully wont take me too long to finish these up and get them out to you people. .. -Gary. .. .. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .... ..
