A guava is a tropical fruit. Tropical fruit grows in hot places. Guavas, therefore, are hot. They are also tasty, brightly coloured, and generally refreshing to the senses. How much longer can we stretch this analogy, you ask? ...not much further....
Hip, yet unconventional, Guava stands out in the Sydney scene as something special. Described as 'alternative, rootsy pop', the groove based rhythm section grounds the vocal and sax melodies, which are often jazz-inspired and African sounding. The songs are about love, peace and freedom; celebrating the opportunity to be alive, to be joyful and to live well.
The band has had some commendable achievements over the year and a half since playing together. They’ve already recorded two EPs (‘Guava’ and ‘The Blue Ep’), the latter of which is now being distributed through MGM Green and can be purchased through iTunes.
They've also had national radio airplay with Triple J, and Sydney’s Fbi with ‘Hope in Mind’, and done tonnes of shows throughout Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra, including The Basement, The Vanguard, The Heritage Hotel, The Supper Club, The Annandale, Spectrum, 303 High St, The Wesley Ann and Canberra’s Hippo Lounge. Guava’s live shows are energetic, engaging, sometimes experimental, and always an experience. They also love alliteration. And puns.

Look up Urchin Studios on my myspace i recorded Remember Me, So Crazy and Paper and Plastic there(it was ages ago and their recordings sound even better now) but it think they're cool. The rest of the songs were done at my friends house except for Untitled which was at my mates Uni.
