Consider yerselves welcome and raise yer hands for that gift of our Lord, that auld COUNTRYBILLYSWAMPROCK known as: Pressure Island. We shall electrify yall with CountrynSoulnVoodoo and we shall make yer rusted hips move n shake.
After all that praise proceeding our last Everybody wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die, which of course - we shall now confess was (only) a dirty as hell rough cut from our wretched auld rehearsal room, that foul year of our Lord 2006 will shine in an entirely different light.
And that light shall shine so almighty bright, just like Russian Vodka held gainst the late afternoon sun.
In mid January 2006, that wicked auld posse of ours, embarked on a journey to that auld sin hole St. Pauli, to record 14 brand new tracks at the Art Store Studio, operated by Louisiana Swamp Rock Legend and professor of music DM Bob (a.k.a. Bob Tooke).
Were talking slow as slowly distilled sippin moonshine country tunes accompanied by (Bobs) slide guitar and the most unusual percussion Instruments known to man kept creepin in through that faade of countrified Swamprockstompers with that demented Rockabilly groove and plenty o that delightful Swing & Twang poison.So sing HALLELUJA, for the Jacksons celebrate complicated music for simple peopleand thats exactly how we like to describe them tunes of ours on Pressure Island:
And Gdammit! Even tough we still enjoy them cats at the god forsaken press tellin folksThey dont give a rats ass bout no charts or referring to our tunes as melodies from the trash bin we must admit we have discovered a new way and have dedicated our loving selves to the discovery of the SONG.
It was that master of sound DEUTSCHMARK BOB that captured these fragile tunes created by five urban cynics on quarter inch magnetic tape stock.
The question whether or not Bob ought to rename or reinvent himself as EURO Bob, would have been an inappropriate question considering his focused and energetic work process.
In the face of a sweat shop work ethic, we considered ourselves fortunate to find the time to devour a meal at the more or less spicy Indian joint round the corner, which of course proved vital for tempo, melody and air quality within the studio premises.
In addition to all that we proudly announce that very little alcohol has been consumed during these recordings, which resulted in a straight to the gut groovemachine made up of bass (Downhill Jackson) and drums (Rattlesnake) but also did not harm the vicious solo guitar of Newie Jacksons and the gravely Hfner guitar sound of Bowzen Hatzfeld.
It certainly did not harm singer Drew Jacksons new found voice, who, in spite of being known for his raw vocals got to exercise his singing skills.
Gittin randy in Vodooville or mixed emotions of country feelings, ice cold and hotter than hell, thats Hack Mack Jackson in that foul year of our Lord 2006.
We shall make that musical trash bin burst with delight and this we promise all of ye beloved brothers and sisters.
