About haftor medbøe group

haftor medbøe group is based in Scotland but we all have roots elsewhere in Scandinavia, Iceland, Poland and Australia. We've played in many places over the past few years and particularly enjoy the bizarre locations - lighthouses, barns and sheds - although the occasional concert hall is also very nice. The touring line up features saxophone giant Konrad Wiszniewski alongside the irreplaceable Signy Jackobsdottir (percussion) and Chris Greive (trombone).

Our first EP and album were released on our own label and the follow up was on Linn Records.

Our latest album is ready. It's called NEW:HAPPY and features our very special guest bassist Eva Malling from Copenhagen. You can listen at our official website or buy CD/download tracks direct from Fabrikant Records or from CD Baby:

If you are an ambitious jazzgroup with young musicians you can inscribe for the Jazz Hoeilaart Contest 2009 until the 15th of may. The festival, which is organised by Muziekmozaïek in collaboration with vzw De Rand, will take place from the 24th until the 26th of September and is intended for young international Jazz talent. The 30-years old festival has its reputation for bringing international talent into the spotlights. Many known artists, such as Rosario Guiliani, Michiel Borstlap, Magnus Lindgren, Alexi Tuomarila and Robin Verheyen were on stage at this international contest. The 31st edition of the contest will open on Thursday the 24th of September 2009. Until the 26th of September six finalists will perform in a contest-formula.
