I know it sounds cliché, but I’m living a dream I never thought possible. I remember when that dream was born. I was in Santiago, Chile – watching the first movie I had ever seen. It was “Star Wars.” I was six years old. And I knew.
But I also knew my dream of acting would probably never come true. After all, I was an only child who came from a very conservative family in Chile. My father was a chemist. My mother was a homemaker. Acting was not an option.
I didn’t know it then, but this was probably a blessing for me, because it forced me to discover other passions in life. I entered Universidad Catolica in Santiago, where I studied civil engineering. I became an officer in the Chilean Air Force Reserves, where I found my love for flying. And I played every sport imaginable, ranging from tennis to boxing to skiing. Funny thing is, while I was living this life – the life I thought I was supposed to live – I discovered that, sometimes, your dreams are so powerful, the world conspires to make them come true.
In my second year at the university, I was approached by a talent agent who convinced me to enter a contest in search of Chile’s “Super Teen.” Seemingly out of nowhere, I was experiencing a moment that would lead to the life I had dreamed about when I was just six years old. Amazingly, I won that contest – which paved the way to acting in Chilean prime-time dramas, a Spanish-language series based on “Starsky & Hutch” called “Reyes y Rey” for Sony Television and, then, I was cast on the CBS show “Family Law.” That experience not only led to a co-starring role with Sylvester Stallone in the feature film “Driven,” but to a part alongside John Travolta in the film “Basic.” I've been privileged to play recurring roles in the CBS drama “CSI: Miami,” the CBS sitcom “The Class,” and the ABC comedy “Ugly Betty,” but I’m also excited about my newest television series, “In Plain Sight,” which will be airing on the USA Network later this year.
But that’s not the only new thing in my life. Amazingly, I’ve been chosen to be a part of the new cast of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” I can’t tell you how excited I am about this opportunity. After all, I’ve always wanted to learn to dance, which further reveals how – if you stay open enough – eventually, all of your dreams can come true.
It’s what I’ve always believed. Nothing is impossible. You just have to set your goals and not listen to anyone who tells you it can’t be done. Because it can!

Sent an angel to watch over you last night, but it came back. I asked, "Why?" The angel said, "Angels don't watch over angels!"....Twenty angels are in the world. Ten are sleeping. Nine are playing. One is reading this comment.....Send this to me back, IF YOU DO IT I WILL CONFIRM THAT YOU'RE A GREAT PERSON AND FRIEND, AND THAT'S WHY YOU ARE ON MYSPACE FRIEND'S LIST, IF YOU DON'T DO IT, I WILL CONFIRM THAT YOU DON'T EVEN PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE THE TIME TO ANSWER A COMMENT TO SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT YOU, I HOPE TO CONFIRM THE FIRST ONE
Just send me this back, and tell me what do you think about me?
Hola Cristian como tay? Como est tu braso despues de tu operacion del viernes? Trata de escribirme para saber como estas. Okis cuidate muchoooo saludos a la Laurita y tb a la Angelica :D :D :D :D.
I hope the operation goes well on your arm, it was a bitter sweet evening to see you not up there as the winner but I also at the same time was happy for you because you need to have that arm taken care of ASAP You are still a winner in my eyes as most people would have pulled out of the show and you moved forward and took on each dance. Kudos to you Cristian. Have a wonderful holiday as well.
I'm not the type of "myspace" friend to send wishes, cute cards, poems, etc. But, when someone is so deserving of congratulations, I will say it out loud... CONGRATULATIONS CRISTIAN! I am very proud of you! You showed to the world the spirit of a champion, and that's how I will always remember this year's DWS; with you as the one who gave the show character and strength; on top of that you are Chilean! It does not get better than that! Un abrazo,

MyHotComments Hello Cristian, I hope you have a nice Memorial Day, and I have to say that even though you didn't win the trophy on DWTS, you are still a winner!!
I cannot believe that the time has gone by so quickly. I have to admit as I sit here writing this, I'm feeling a little sad that this incredible journey is coming to an end.
AND YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN FANTASTIC!
I've always believed that no matter what we do in life whether we're teachers, students, parents, spouses, doctors, actors, we tend to go through life living in our own little "boxes.
It's so important to break the mold and step outside whatever box we're in and for once in our lives...DANCE ON TOP OF IT! That's what "Dancing with the Stars" has been for me, a chance to challenge myself, push myself and try something I never ever thought I would or could do.
And, so on this the eve of the FINALS, it is my sincere wish for each and everyone one of you to step outside YOUR box--and DANCE ON TOP OF IT! Find something that scares you --AND TRY IT!
I think you'll find once you do THAT...you'll never want to go back inside the box.
To my new friends I say "thank you " for joining the team.
And, to those of you who've been with me since the begining of this journey, I hope we've inspired you in some small way to "take a chance" and GO FOR IT!
Enjoy the last bit of your Sunday and for one last time...I hope you'll tune in Monday night at 8PM for the FINALS of "Dancing with the Stars!"
