• Bio

Halcyon Way is Atlanta's premier heavy metal band. They are known for their explosive live shows, instantly catchy melodies, precise vocal harmonies, incendiary guitar work, intricate yet pounding drums, and showmanship hearkening back to the glory days of arena rock. Aurally combining the heaviness of bands like Slayer, Chimaira, DevilDriver, Testament, and the like; accessible melodies reminding you of bands like King's X, Disturbed, and Queensryche, along with technical brilliance and a twist of Dream Theater, you will be pummeled with the punishing riffs while being lovingly caressed by the unforgettable hooks.

Halcyon Way have received radio play on Atlanta's FM 99.7, 91.1, 96.1, 1640AM, XM Radio, Sirius Radio, Darktech Radio, Metal Assault Radio, Hard Rock Radio Live, Maximum Threshold, Braingell Radio, Powermaker, Zentient Metalcast, and many other online radio stations. They have also toured and shared the stage with heavyweight acts such as Helloween, Strapping Young Lad, Symphony X, Kamelot, FOZZY, Death Angel, CAGE, Doro Pesch, Marc Rizzo of Soulfly, Sanctity, Vicious Rumors, Seven Witches, Samael, Cathedral, Brand New Sin, To/Die/For, Virgin Black, Prototype, Echoes Of Eternity, Sacred Dawn, Krucible, Cellador, Freak Kitchen, A Lower Deep, Scum Of The Earth, Speed X, Bobaflex, Society 1, Odin's Court, Imagika, Aska, Mindwarp Chamber, Six Minute Century, Circle II Circle, Enertia, and Magistral. In addition, Halcyon Way made two appearances at the ProgPower USA festival, in 2004 and 2007. Halcyon Way also performed at the Rocklahoma festival in 2008 & 2009 alongside bands such as Queensryche, Tesla, Overkill, Metal Church, Ace Frehley, and many others.

In 2008, Halcyon Way released their long-awaited debut, "A Manifesto For Domination". Produced by guitarist Jon Bodan with assistance from James Murphy (Testament, Death, Obituary), mixed by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Incubator), and mastered by James Murphy, the record was released worldwide via Nightmare Records.

In 2010, Halcyon Way released their 2nd album. Produced by Halcyon Way and Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Svartsot), "Building The Towers" features superb performances by all involved, including new vocalist Steve Braun (formerly of Italy's Ashent) and guest vocalist Pamela Moore (yes, Sister Mary from Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime"). Topped by a stunning artwork courtesy of Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth etc.), the album comes across as nothing but a masterpiece in the making.

The band's third CD, "IndoctriNation" will be released on October 25, 2011, again via Nightmare/Sony RED. The new CD is the sequel to 2010's "Building The Towers" and features 5 new tracks, a cover of "Stand Up" from the "Rock Star" movie, a radio edit of the smash "The Age Of Betrayal" and an industrial remix by karbonBlack of "The System" from "Building The Towers". Never a band to rest on their laurels, or to refrain from taking risks, the new CD will rest comfortably in the Halcyon Way discography.
