Halflight write emotionally charged acoustic pop songs about small towns and big cities, lost love and enduring friendship.
Having already released 3 self-financed mini albums and supported acts such as James Morrison, Sandi Thom and Gossip, their music has reached a wide audience and gathered a loyal and supportive fan-base. In 2007 a Halflight track was used on a worldwide Hallmark Channel promo. The same song was used on an OC trailer.
The band is as comfortable with low budget home recording as they are with more recent bigger budget sessions at Olympic Studios (with top 10 producer/writer Matt Prime). Lo-fi samples of harp, crwth and music box sit along-side lush acoustics and mandolin to accompany Sarah’s beautiful, folk-tinged vocals.
Think the Sundays, Suzanne Vega and Joni Mitchell... then think again.

hi sarah great new song... i'm joining the dots and thinking that things ARE actually going to kick off properly for you really soon. am i right? do tell us, do... julia. x
You guys sounded great last night, and it was great because the majority of the songs were new to me! I was going to say hello, but didn't get the chance to. Thanks for letting me round off my birthday with some beautiful music! x
WOW the new track is stunning, Cant we start a campaign to get you guys on The Jools Hollands show, I dont mind starting the ball rolling Hope all is well with you. Ash :o)
It's that time of week again when I bother your inbox / forum / myspace page bugging you to help me gather together the best new Welsh music for my show tonight on BBC Radio Wales.
Why should you send me music?
Well, because if I like it I will play it on national BBC radio and gush like a fool about it. There are up to 40,000 people listening on a Sunday night... that's disregarding the multitude [ok, maybe large-ish crowd] of others who listen again during the week via the BBC's funky iPlayer.
Plenty of influential people within the 'industry' listen to the show. Bands have been signed. Gigs have been booked. Beautiful relationships have flowered, all after airplay on my show. Not that I'm claiming any credit in these instances. It's probably more down to synchronicity and coincidence!
So, high quality .mp3's of your finest, most recent recordings, please, to:
themysterytour@gmail.com
I can't play Windows Media files [.wma files] but if that is all you have, send them anyway.
The deadline today for the Demo of the Week is 3pm [Sunday].
Please include a contact number with your e-mail so that I can call you to interview you if you 'win'.
love the new lyrics, just read them. I had a baby girl five weeks old now, called Seren eliza may! Dead chuffed. Lots of love to you all and all the best. xx
