Half of Reason lives on in the form of 3 EP-length CDs and several side projects. We celebrated 8 years together in the spring of 2009, then moved on to other creative projects. Look for individual HoR members in groups such as Stimulus, Electric Delores, Germanate08, and even on the big screen! Thank you so much for all your support and friendship over the years. Half of Reason is history ... and our history is below.
It all began in 2001 with Kelly’s suggestion to record some of David’s original instrumental music. With the help of the very talented Henry on bass and the inspiring lyrics of BeauHemia, the music took shape.
Since 2002, Half of Reason built a reputation for fun and original rock music in the Wichita area. Our 3-hour set list is 70% unique, original music directed at the 20-40 demographic. The remaining list contains pop cover songs ranging from hits such as "Learn to Fly" (Foo Fighters) and "Kryptonite" (3 Doors Down) to a rocked up version of "Possession" (Sarah McLachlan).
Half of Reason performed monthly in the greater Wichita area, and had the pleasure of playing many great venues over the past five years including Club Liquid, O'Sullivans (formerly MyRoom), Port of Wichita, JC's House of Rock, John Barleycorn's, Emerson Biggins, America's Pub, Lizard Lounge, Champs, Shamrock, The Game, and Wichita State University -- to name a few -- plus the occasional plugged-in acoustic gig at Riverside Perk, Newman University, or the Artichoke Sandwich Bar.
We've had the honor of sharing the stage with a wide range of other fine Wichita area musicians including Tainted, Alien8, Signum, the Sluggos, Shorn, Shagdaddys, The Vehicles, Rule of 2, Layden, Nikki Moddelmog, Carrie Cooley, Sage Flower, Jeffrey Faus and more. Thanks also to the Fly and T95 for supporting local music and airing Half of Reason songs!
Woo hoo!!! Just got my first listen at "Tear it Down" and I love it. Along with "Stay Awake" those are my favorites. I just wish the track of Stay Awake would play all the way through. Maybe I should by a CD, huh? lol
Anyway, awesome song, and you all are great and a lovely voice on you lady. Keep up the awesome sounds....
