Obsession
Martin Langer aka Obsession started dj'ing in 1990 after attending early rave events such as Streetrave & Freedom. While attending these events he knew that he wanted to make it as a dj and started putting on his own nights in his local area. It was not long until his skills were noticed by none other than the legendary Fubar Club in Stirling who made him a resident at their upcoming hardcore nights. The Fubar soon became the No.1 nightclub in Scotland attracting dj’s from all over the world with Martin responsible for all the bookings, while also running the clubs popular record store.
His residency at the Fubar led him on to countless bookings for all the major promoters of the time including Rezerection, Fantazia & Nosebleed to name only a few. Bookings started to come in further a field including Judgement Day in Newcastle, N-Joy Project in Plymouth and at the Fubar Ibiza parties in Spain.
While many dj’s dropped hardcore when it became less popular Martin carried on pushing his sound where possible. He continued to play hardcore, getting the odd booking here and there with the few promoters that were still putting on hardcore events. When BTTF started bringing it back to the masses again over 5 years ago Obsession became one of its main residents, helping making the nights what they have become.
In the last few years Martin has become one of the most in demand dj’s in Scotland and further a field. Earlier this year he played at the massive Masters Of Hardcore party in Holland in front of 20,000 ravers and at Lenny Dee’s 40th birthday party at the Melkveg in Amsterdam. He is booked to play at Italy’s premier hardcore club Number One In December and has a few other Dutch dates in the pipeline.
As well as helping put together the BTTF events Martin also co-promotes his own nights such as Sector and Amnezia, which cater for the harder side of hardcore and rave music.
Production wise Martin has had releases out on Bass Generator Records and the Fubar's own Fubar Records. He has just recently started his own Obsession Records label and has upcoming tracks coming out on Lenny Dee’s famous Industrial Strength Records.
