Philadelphia based rock band, HEAD, is one of the most impressive groups present in the original music scene today. The music hits like a train; strong forward motion and unified down-beats, mixed with powerful, purr-turned-sledgehammer vocals have made this band one of the most intriguing acts in the area.
Vocalist Lexi Greene, guitar player Michael Zimney and bass player Mark Greene had already been writing together for years before keyboardist Tori Ryzner was persuaded in 2000 to join the fold. The chemistry is undeniable; the entire group pulses together as a single unit, which is exemplified through their riveting live performance.
Head is all about the difference. They begin with a clear vision and execute a writing style apart from most. Their unique compositions involve all members in a whole-is-greater-then-the-sum-of-its-parts collaboration, unleashing one of the most powerful forces in todays original music scene. The bands ability to feed off untapped energy in the rock genre just waiting to be ignited in their audience, is unparalleled.
Having spent 2005 playing top regional venues, including The Electric Factory (Philadelphia, PA), Grape Street (Philadelphia, PA), The Trocadero (Philadelphia, PA), CBGBs (New York, NY), Kahunaville (Wilmington, DE), T.T. Reynolds (Fairfax, VA); sharing the stage with the likes of Collective Soul, Lacuna Coil, Fishbone, Kings X and The Birthday Massacre; and receiving consistent airplay and featured performances on, and with, Philadelphias 93.3 WMMR the band is poised for a national breakout.
Range Records released HEADs first full length album in 2006, "Look Without Seeing", recorded and produced at Studio 4 by Grammy Award-winning Producer/engineer Phil Nicolo (The Police, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Dishwalla, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Anthrax) and mixed at Range Records Studios by Joe Mattis (The Who, Iggy Pop, Pat Benatar), it debuted a new sort of rock, that breaks convention as much as it instantly resonates. The impression it leaves is clear this is not just another band from Philly, this is the beginning of a much deeper strike.
Hey all! I was listening to you today and realized how much I miss seeing you guys jam!! Just thought I would drop you a line to say hello from the east coast. Hope everyone is well.
If you would like to have your bands featured on the show, it is very simple!!!
It is very simple to be featured on the show. Here is all we require:
6 songs in mp3 format (can be live, acoustic, studio stuff, anything you want to use to showcase the band). Yes, its a lot, but we only feature one artist per show, and we use a song to open the show, then a song after every news story we do during the show (which is 5 stories total for one show).
We also need a brief bio of the band. We will go onto your page and look at the upcoming dates for your shows and let people know about them, as well as link your band on our page under the featured artist section.
It's that simple. We will use every single band that sends us the above, so spread the word and tell other bands you know!
Please email all submissions (send each song as an individual email please) to:
