Martin wrote his first song aged seven. By twelve he was drumming in a local Jazz band and by thirteen he’d formed a band called ‘HarewoodMagna"(www.Harewoodmagna.co.uk), named as Britain's youngest folk band of the time. Martin's musical arrangements were far beyond his years and the band quickly grew in popularity, toured extensively, performed on television and released two albums. Today he has worked with many artists, been influenced by playing blues and developed a rich vocal style. His guitar playing is often remarked upon as being a mix of delicate finger picking with a strong rhythmic element and his lyrics go straight to the heart. Martin’s musicality developed over the years by ear, he feels this gave him the freedom to evolve from the inside out. Catherine’s vocal style is often remarked upon as being an unusual in its mix of Jazz like deep rich tones with an English folk like vibrato. She has been involved in the creative arts for twenty years, initially in visual and performance art, and later in body related arts such as movement and massage. Her creative process led her to pick up a guitar eight years ago and begin writing songs, she has been creating and singing songs ever since. Catherine and Martin met through hearing each other sing. They started collaborating immediately and found that their vocals and guitar styles blended unusually well and their lyrics shared an intimate and heartfelt quality.Nine months later they are now completing their first album,performing and collaborating with other artists.
