This is the new HELLEN: Mindy DuPonte, Ryan Abel, and Andrew Heath! A dynamic trio, this is the third stage of the HELLEN band that is just hitting the Phoenix scene as we speak. HELLEN started its rise to popularity in 2005 when two sisters, Desiree and Mindy, got together and quickly progressed in the Phoenix metal environment earning front page coverage of the Phoenix New Times in 2006 as the “future of death metal in Phoenix .” While word was quickly spreading about their surprising metal power and HELLEN was rapidly gaining momentum, tragedy struck in 2007 and Desiree passed away. Unwilling to let her musical dreams fade, Mindy later joined forces with Corrie to carry on in her sister’s place. The new duo continued to enjoy amazing success and recorded its first official HELLEN recording, Confessions of a Four-track Mind, in 2008.
Mindy DuPonte is a consummate performer who began playing before live audiences at age fourteen. In her HELLEN role as lead vocalist, lyricist, arranger, and drummer, she has been identified by DRUMHEAD magazine as a “performance polyrhythm." Intuitive skills have led her to a technique that makes her stand out amongst the crowd. A single- bass drum pedal, larger drum shells, and an emphasis on “beat” set the scene for her heavy-hitting style. Mindy’s vocal delivery and simultaneous drumming provide the impact of being two musicians at once! No one sounds like Mindy DuPonte. She is also an accomplished modern dancer and has won several awards for her work in the multi-media arts. Mindy’s awareness of music history and her wide genre-skipping- influence- base provide a template for a distinctive musical personality. Never one to copy, Mindy is truly a unique force in today’s metal/hard rock scene.
Ryan Abel is a self taught guitarist with many influences. His endless creativity and uplifting spirit has had a major impact on Hellen .
Born and raised in the heart of Arizona , Andrew Heath developed a love for music in early childhood learning to sing and play the piano at age 7. After realizing he lacked the finances to be a drummer, Andrew chose to play the bass at age 16 to avoid being like everyone else. As a player, he strives to avoid being in the background, and rather making the bass stand out with it's on individuality among the other instruments. His influences range from classical to death metal with a little bit of everything thrown in. Producing crushing bass lines and utilizing unparalleled energy during performances makes him a powerful addition to any project. In addition Andrew is an accomplished student and fan of the martial arts with a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.
Merchandise currently sold out. Sorry guys, but thank you for your support in purchasing. Listen out for news in the future of more Hellen apparel.

NEW ALBUM: [COMING SOON]
"Confessions Of A Four Track Mind" was the first EP from 'Hellen'. Now out of print the album was offered for a limited period, and marked the first time the band had laid down CD quality tracks. "Their eviscerating new EP comes across as part personal exorcism on the part of 16-year-old drummer/vocalist Mindy DuPonte, whose every full-on, feral utterance must alert surely alert meteorologists within a 50-mile radius, and part study in how to arrange any listener in their sights so they end up looking like one of Gunther Von Hagens' Bodyworks exhibits." - Metal Hammer Jan.2009 Edition
