Hellfire Machina -
Jody Shires aka 'Mechabot1'
(One half of Sunz Of Mecha and Uncouth Youth/ Label boss at Mechamusic/ Owner of Breaksfm)
His first venture into music was mid nineties post rave band J - Pac, signing to Warner Bros, recording an album at London's Strongroom Studios and peforming around the world. After 3 years of touring and with a string of top 20 dance rmx's under his belt, Jody moved on and started Mechanoise Records the pioneering UK breakbeat label and formed Sunz Of Mecha with his brother. At the same time, Jody was taken on as in house remixer for skate punk label Instinctive Records. Credited by their peers as being the pioneers of tearout breaks, Sunz Of Mecha unleashed a harder more complex production style on the world's dancefloors. Some 40 releases later, Jody began to explore the realms of dubstep and on meeting Tom in New York, Hellfire Machina was born.
Tom Williams aka 'Chosen Substance'
(Founding member of Junglist Movement and Raw Groove UK)
Conceived with a mission to produce music, Tom William's is a creative thinker and trusted adviser, which provides the foundation for an honest and forward thinking music creative, creating quality music that stands the test of time. From day one, Tom was surrounded by music whether it be his families Latin influenced grooves…or in his later years with the heavy drum & bass sound systems of London in the early to mid nineties. A love for music in all its forms and diversity, music has always been an integral part of his life. Tom discovered the world of dubstep through FWD at Plastic People in Shoreditch, London. Having spent the past 10 years rinsing the drum & bass culture that London had to offer, he connected with the dubstep sound. He moved to New York and hooked up with Jody Shires which in turn led to the formation of Hellfire Machina.
