Indie-folk-pop band from Liverpool, UK. Hellfire Sermons released a string of 7-inch vinyl singles in the 1980s and 1990s to critical approval, selling out of their limited presssings all too quickly.
The songs deal with everyday life in Liverpool - drunks, liars, poll tax bailiffs, girls and Trotskyists.
These are now collected together on the CD 'Hymns Ancient and Modern' on the excellent BusStop label of Milwaukee, USA. We continue to write, rehearse and gig and are looking for an outlet for another twenty or thirty unreleased indie-pop gems.
The two Esurient singles, 'Honey/Moon' and 'Best Laugh I Ever Had'; and the two Dishy singles 'Covered In Love' and 'Sarasine' are now available for free on download.com.
The Bus Stop album 'Hymns Ancient and Modern' which collects together all the singles, flexi-discs and cassette only releases - 19 songs - is now available from Amazon UK, Amazon US, CDBaby and now iTunes.
Here's a snippet from the upcoming album... still in progress

The Enormity of Small Things, the sixth issue of Your Heart Out, is a special edition, with The Flirtations on the cover dancing in the ruins of an abbey, while inside take as a starting point Dexys' Coming To Town shows in 1985, add a soundtrack of lopsided soul and odd pop, and enjoy lots of thoughts about how things fit together, and the consequences of intuition and influence.
