Hellvar started out as a duo with Heiða Eiríksdóttir and Elvar Sævarsson from Reykjavík, Iceland. Their music history stretches back to the 90s, when they were in punk rock bands in Iceland. After meeting at the Philosophy Department in the University, Heiða and Elvar decided to make music together, and founded Hellvar in Berlin. There, they made music for guitars and drum-machines, and when back in Iceland, added 3 more members: Alexandra on guitars and vocals, Haukur on bass, and Óli on drums. Their album, "Bat out of Hellvar" from 2007 was mostly made in Berlin and focuses on the whole Berlin-sound with drum-machines. Their new album "Stop that Noise" shows off the new Hellvar who has grown into a full-blown rockband.
Members
Elvar plays many things and Heida plays some things and sings. Haukur is the Bassplayer. And Alexandra plays guitar. Óli is a flaming drummer boy. They almost never dance.
