In an age where hot pink is the new black, Hercules in NY take to the stage...
< ...With aspirations to combine their respective love of Hypercolor, Hudson Hawk and Hoverboards; a group of young men found each other and decided the best way to manifest these dreams was to make a pop band. Their endless pursuit for color-changing clothing, bad movies and the plainly fantastic has resulted in the creation of some damn sexy tunes.
With beats that shake your hips; moves that will make you redefine the very word dance; funky bass lines that make you question how a man was raised, and the most wicked synths since the Keytar crash of '92... Hercules in NY is the sound of the 1980's versus the future!
We’ve released some tunes …
In April 2008, Hercules in NY released their debut AA single featuring songs Nightlight & Long time comin’. It got some radio play. In October 2008, we went on to release our debut EP.
It got some play too….some people wrote nice things about it…. Damn straight!…
"Hercules in NY are simply clever songwriters…You will love this band."
BEAT, 12 November 2008
"Melbourne’s Hercules In NY blend an unusual mix of soft electronic pop …to create a sound that’s quite striking in its uniqueness."
RAVE MAGAZINE, 28 October 2008
"The band’s classical influences come through in their music with D’Angelo’s strong melodies ... a feature often lost in dance music... a highlight."
NORTHERN TERRITORY NEWS, 23 May 2008
Both releases were produced and recorded by Hercules in NY, mixed by Steve Schram at Martin Street Studios (Custom Kings and Little Red) and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering.
