HEX RX is a project featuring Roger Jarvis of Kevorkian Death Cycle. We are pleased to announce Nick Viola from FRACTURED TRANSMISSION and former live drummer Daemon Noir of KUBIKZAHL coming on board for the upcoming second album entitled "D". The official release date for the new album is MARCH 13, 2009 with Negative Gain Productions! Check out Kevorkian Death Cycle's MySpace.
Following in the footsteps of their noisome, tribal, and erratic debut, HexRx seem to excavate a bit more melody out of their modus operandi for “D”. Take for example the track “Hate”; rife with pensive piano, apoplectic percussion, twitching electronics and troubled-to-seething vocals, it is as if Nine Inch Nails left a futurepop ballad out in the sun to spoil. Similarly bitter, “Fade Away” intersplices somber crooning with snide snarls, while its static-crusted drum machines stomps out a fractured beat amidst defeated synths. Conversely, there are pieces like the percolating, stomping “Shreds”, whose grinding guitars and burbling glitch-riddled vocals proffer that despite its occasional desperate violin exhales, HeXRx can still dish out the vitriol. Equally intense, the fluttering fuzzy synths and pounding percussive constants in “Eviscerate” induce memories of Numb, while occasional breaks of morose melancholy add distinctive contrast to its passages of gurgling vocoded fury. Though a few probably pined for “D” to favor HexRx’s experimental inclinations, they still remain not only true to form, but are strangely even more palatable than before.
