HIGH FANGS

Bio:

High Fangs are a Melbourne three-piece (more on very special occasions) who play high energy, dirty, garage power pop. The past couple of years have seen a limited edition EP receive warm reviews and radio play as well as 'Don't look back' being aired on channel 9s 'Rescue Special ops' as the opening tune to melodramatic, end-of-season finale road carnage. Speaking of road carnage, 'On my side' was also recently picked up for a NASCAR segment in the states. The year 2009 saw the band go interstate with Sydney rock three-piece The Shake Up before receiving liver transplants upon their return. Amidst playing their own shows around Melbourne, High Fangs have supported Wisconsin favourites The Good Night Loving, and more recently, sensational Spaniards Los Chicos. The year 2011 will see the release of their debut album, which is currently in pre-production. High Fangs have been described as: "A garage band with a serious attention to the colourful genealogy of the genre, abrasive garage rock, saturated with enough treacle-thick fuzz to drown a community of flaccid bubblegum pop lovers, and some LA garage pop harmonies and a rough-and-ready narrative almost James Baker in its post-modern relevance. Having the unequivocal excitement of The Victims doing the soundtrack for a ’60s cartoon soundtrack with all the corrugated iron melodic happiness typically associated with The Missing Links before art throttled reality with an iron grip.
