With his first set of decks in 1998, High Torque took his love for electronic music to a new level. Being able to manipulate and alter music with different mixing styles gave a creative edge that he thrived on. This was the root of his musical progression. As time unravelled he experimented with different music and equipment that developed his knowledge and understanding of electronic sounds.
In 2004 High Torque enrolled on a Music Technology HND in order to developed his production skills, as he finished the course he was approached by Corrupted Records who had heard some of his material and was interested in signing him. 'Stop in my mind' was the debut release in November '07 and took a more progressive slant to his usual style. The remix and original material started to flow from this point with material out on variety labels from around the globe.
Not one to be pigeon holed High Torque has had releases in minimal, tech, progressive and techno genres and even makes more down-tempo music too.
His more tech side was evident in the remix of Mindform's Batfunk which was released mid december 2007. The last release before the end of the year came in the form of a remix for Dibby Dougherty which took a more minimal route and was released by Musictracx.
With recent tracks going to Papstec, Loopfreaks Black, Augenring, Musictraxx and other yet to be confirmed labels High Torque's profile is set to grow as we approach 2009.
A recent move to London has opened up new opportunities including a step into the business and events realm with a new job at Cr2 Records.
High Torque's Dj sets generally consist of bouncy minimal, groovy tech house and techno.
Appearances have been made at most good music venues in Nottingham (Stealth, The Bomb, Blueprint, The Social, Moog, The loft, Bar None, Muse and a number of other bars) and also plays in Bristol (Dojo Lounge) and Leicester (O4). With appearances at Product, Dollop, Halo, Original Four to name a few.
