Hinterland draws inspiration from the aesthetics of shoegaze and new wave, but the Vancouver quintet takes its influences and strives to create something new: a sound that drifts from darkly ethereal beauty to blasts of feedback-infused bliss. We call it dreamo.
Hinterland's third album, Pan Pan Medico, was released in February '08.

Hey, I really like your cover of For Love - I'd never heard it before! Usually I don't like covers because I'm too attached to the original, especially for beloved bands like Lush, but this cover's a keeper, and more proof what a talented band Hinterland is!

Pan Pan Medico is every bit as good as I'd hoped and expected. But (sigh) when I got your bulletin to contact my college radio station it occurred to me that when MBV and Ride were first making the sounds that came to be known as Shoegaze, I was already long out of college, whereas a big bunch of your fan base probably wasn't born yet. Oh well, maybe I'll just call my local geriatric society instead... :-P
And you can't judge by my picture over there... That's 10 years old, taken with a digital camera that uploaded its pictures to the computer via the COM port. A big chunk of your fan base has probably never heard of a COM port either. (Lucky, them.)
Not that I'm feeling old or anything!! Luckily there's no concept of age where good music like yours transports me.
