About The HIPHOCALYPSE MOVEment

The HIPHOCALYPSE © is a MOVEment promoting African Hip Hop globally. It began as a weekly 3hr radio show broadcasted on the Rhodes University campus radio station Rhodes Music Radio (RMR) in February 2000.

The name HipHocalypse was devived from the concept of a hip hop induced Apocalypse. The end of the world as we know it...with hip hop music as the soundtrack of the revolution in the apocalypse - hence: HIPHO-CALYPSE! (pronounced hipo-kalips).

We seek to "tune today's society out of their channel zero" through positive hip hop culture. We also focus on the promotion of local (and) international hiphop acts through our worldwide syndicated African Hip Hop show and web presence.
