Album Of The Year "On The Way Up"
February 27, 2009 - HisSong was honored with the group’s first nomination in the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The nominees for the 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced today at a special press conference at the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau in Nashville, Tennessee. HisSong received the first nomination of their career this morning in the category of Southern Gospel Album of the Year for the group’s Vine Records debut On the Way Up.
Dennis Humphries said, “When we got the call from our producer, Wayne Haun, we were beyond excited! We are up against some wonderful artists. Just to be nominated is such an honor, and I thank God for this honor. We also have to thank our producer Wayne Haun. He has helped us more than words can describe!”
Our producer on On the Way Up, Wayne Haun, was also nominated for the Producer of the Year and in addition to his producer credits, Haun is also nominated for Youth/Children's Musical of the Year for “An Island Christmas” (Lillenas Publishing Company), a musical that he co-wrote with his mother, Shelby Haun, and DOVE award-winning songwriter Joel Lindsey.
The 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards, Gospel music's biggest night of the year, featuring artists from every style of gospel/Christian music coming together for a night of music and celebration, will be broadcast nationwide live on the Gospel Music Channel from 8 - 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Thursday, April 23, 2009.
